A new year! {St. Francisville Newborn and Child Photographer}

I’ve had a great few months taking a much needed break from photography, but I’m back in the game!  Here are sneak peeks into a session this past weekend…first, baby Ellie!  She didn’t want to sleep much for me, but I was able to get a few of her snoozing.  (Of course, she fell asleep as soon as we were done with the shoot – it ALWAYS happens that way!).  Then, it was on to sibling photos. I just loved these kids – the older 2 were such sweet, polite pre-teens.  And the babies were complete angels!  Thank you kiddos for a great 1st photo session of 2011!

Last session of the year! {Baton Rouge Child Photographer}

Okay, so this wasn’t actually the last photographed session of the year, but it’s the last one I had to edit for the year!! 🙂

What a little firecracker!!  She had so much personality!  She was an absolute joy to photograph!

Merry Christmas – from my clients!

As promised, here are the Christmas card samples from the cards I did this year!  I love Christmas cards, Birth announcements….any kind of paper crafting, I absolutely love!  So, to combine photography with the 2 is heavenly for me – you should see my kitchen board and fridge decorated with Christmas cards from loved ones!

Thank you to each and every one of my clients – you have made this year so special!  It truly is an honor and a privilege to photograph your families during these memorable years that go by far too quickly.

Blessings to you and yours this holiday season!

*As a side note, I know it’s early, but I am beginning to book for early Spring – email me soon if you’d like to be put on the books!*

Evie in Studio! {Louisville Child Photographer}

I decided to play with some studio pictures with Evie on my last trip to Louisville – I actually brought my equipment (and rented some when I got there) to get some pictures of Evie in her ballet clothes.  It was so sweet, but since I went through the trouble of setting up the lights, I took advantage of her willingness to take pictures and dressed her up in other clothes.  I didn’t care for the gray backdrop I had rented, so I ran over to JoAnn’s fabric store and picked up this brown velvet damask fabric – it was perfect!!  I absolutely LOVE how they turned out!!

The Red Couch…2010 {Louisville Child and Family Photographer}

If you missed THIS post, start there!  Anna, never to be outdone, sent this poem back to Fran!

Red couch, red couch,

It is sure to appear…

Never too early,

But before the new year.

In a field, by a building,

In an old run down place…

You just never know

What scene we will make.

Some say it is silly,

But we say surely not…

A Smith family tradition,

Three years ago we bought.

It came to the house,

All dusty and sad…

We gave it new life,

And it makes us glad.

We sit and we laugh,

And some of us cry…

Mom gets all giddy,

And the children ask why?

Just work with me here,

And do as I say…

Just take the darn picture,

And then you can play.

Now see look there,

The pictures are sweet…

And oh, are you kidding,

A picture of your feet?

So now you must wonder,

What has she done this time around…

A few balls in the air,

But red couch on the ground.

It’s getting quite old,

And so are we…
But we simply can’t part,

With red couch you see.

To a new house we will go,

And room we must make…

For red couch goes too,

Our gem we must take.

But coming soon to you,

Our look for the year…

What we hope is very special,

And brings you much cheer!

2010:

The Smith Family and I headed out to this amazing place across the river from Louisville in Indiana.  It was so quirky and fun, and unfortunately, we got there a little too late in the day to really take advantage of all the fun spots to take photographs.  But, we did get quite a few precious ones!
