Baby Mackenzie

This precious little one’s Mom, Jill, was my BFF in high school.  I was so excited to be able to be the photographer for Mackenzie’s first photo shoot!  She was an absolute ANGEL…she was so good, and slept the whole time for me.  And, as you can see, she even let us get a picture for her Daddy – inside the Saints helmet!  Oh,  it was quite humorous trying to get this photo.  But, she let us do it with minimal “complaining!”

It’s a GIRL!

We just couldn’t believe it…no, not the fact that Renee had a baby girl, but that she didn’t let ANYONE find out what she was having! It was a killer! I hated not knowing…especially since she has 2 sweet little boys already. Was it a boy? Was it a girl? Since Adrienne has 3 boys, I knew how much fun it would be for my sweet friend to have the same – but I also knew how much she would love having a girl…and she did. It was SO fun, I must admit, the anticipation of waiting to find out what “it” was. I arrived at the hospital about an hour or so before she delivered with her family and close friends waiting in the waiting room. Garrett, her oldest, came up to me with a clipboard with a Girl column and a Boy column…we had to sign our names under what we thought it would be – I guessed a girl! After waiting for close to an hour, Andy came to get Garrett so that he could deliver the news to us…he was exhausted and a little emotional, so Andy waived us into the room. When we got into the room with Renee holding the baby, Garrett got to say, “It’s a girl!” We all just screamed and jumped and were just so excited to meet Aubrey Elizabeth.

Awaiting the word: Girl or Boy?

Her newborn shoot: about 6 days old. Here with big brothers Garrett and Mac.

And, here is her birth announcement!

Little Snow Bunny

I just returned last night from spending almost a week in Louisville with the Smith and Godthaab families – it wasn’t planned that way, but we had a little ice storm come through that changed my travel plans for the rest of the week. Following the ice storm came a beautiful snow fall…it truly was gorgeous – just a blanket of white covering everything. When I left EARLY in the morning on Thursday, it was still dark out. There were lots of street lights out, but the glow of car headlights made every frozen tree look like it was literally made of crystal…just spectacular…really, really gorgeous!

So, since I was there with this beautiful snow and camera in tow, I just HAD to capture some pictures…so the Smiths were my guinea pigs. Isn’t Evie precious with her little pink crocheted hat that Ms. Beth gave her for Christmas (that’s me – I’m Ms. Beth to the Smith kids). And sweet Evie girl with her Momma! I love these pictures of them!

The Smiths – Take Two!

This is *Take Two* because *Take One* was a bust…but I won’t go into that! As you can tell by the pictures, there was preparation involved…a lot of preparation! Try approximately 8-9 months of preparing, or shopping, for the perfect red velvet couch to allow this idea come to fruition. And all of this had to be done on one of my trips to Louisville, KY – don’t want all of my Baton Rouge clients trying to figure out where, in Baton Rouge, I might have taken these photographs! Sorry! 🙁 Even though this was Anna’s initial idea, only the best of friends (and their husbands!) will remain patient enough with the photographer to make it right…so thank you, friends! I am certainly glad we decided to make a second go at it!

And their Christmas card…printed on Pearl paper – YUM!!! These images really don’t do it justice.

A trifold – The silhouette picture was the very back of the trifold and the right 1/3 of the card with Merry Christmas was the very front, with the words being the inside flap.

And the full inside spread – a full 5″ x 15″ spread!

Lundy family

More from fall…the Lundy family…Lisa, Fred, and Kate! Lisa and I are in Bible Study together – when we can coordinate our schedules! Between work, traveling, and babies, it’s hard to get together! I was honored to be able to take their pictures and design their Christmas cards!
